Morning Announcements

January 27, 2020

STUDENTS:

For the weekly Mini Challenge, we will focus on saying “Thank you.” January is actually National Thank You Month so this is the perfect time to practice. Most of us remember to say thank you for big things like birthday gifts, but it’s also appropriate for ordinary actions like when someone in class hands you a paper, lends you a pencil, or holds the door for you. Even when you aren’t sure, say it anyway. A sincere "thank you” can create a small moment that will have a big impact. How many times do you think you can you say “thank you” to someone this week?

Turn in your dance requests for the next after school dance, February 6, 2020.  This can be a great time to hang out with friends and have a fun time.  With a Valentine theme we should all have a good time.  Bring your requests to the Student Store.

Keep selling your chocolate Panther's.  It's not too late to bring in a permission slip and start selling now.  There are lots of great prizes and incentives for wanting to sell chocolates.  If you're interested bring your permission slips to your PE teacher and start today.  Help yourself and the school.  Thanks Panthers!

Let’s Explore Colleges 7th and 8th graders!  GEAR UP will be going on another FREE overnight trip with a student and parent/guardian.  For this overnight trip we will be heading to SDSU, USD, UCSD and PLNU, all public and private universities in San Diego. Experience college tours, college dining and a Men’s SDSU Basketball game. Applications are available now and space is limited so stop by the GEAR UP room, D-5, to get an application or more information today.

8th Graders: Remember to turn in your signed Promotion Criteria form to your history or science teacher or to the office as soon as possible. The signed letter of agreement is due by this Friday, January 31. Please turn in the entire sheet of paper.

Panthers, start bringing your refillable water bottles to school because we now have a water bottle fill station in the C building at the top of the ramp and another one in the F building. Brought to you by the Green Team! More to come!

Panthers, if you have been waiting to sign up for the Lincoln Middle School soccer team, now is the time! Permission slips are available from you P.E. teacher or in the back of the locker room. Soccer is open to both boys and girls. Practices are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 2:20 pm - 4:00 pm. The first day of practice is Monday, February 24th.

Students looking to attend after school tutoring?  Please report to room D5 to sign in for tutoring and get your snack. GEAR UP has the schedule of designated subject area classrooms. Tutoring begins at 2:30 pm and lasts until 3:30 pm Monday through Wednesday.
